I’ve been reading a wonderful book I just ordered from Amazon. It is ‘1000 Gifts ~ Dare to Live Fully Right Where You Are’ by Ann Voskamp. I got inspired to create a little cover for a thanksgiving journal. You can read more about the creation of this journal in my other blog. The post is Life at Plum Cottage.
I really want to learn how to make those beautiful, fat fabric journals, but haven’t found a good you-tube video, or directions anywhere. Maybe I’m just not looking in the right place. If any of you can send me in the right direction, I would greatly appreciate it.
Happy Creating ~ FlowerLady Lorraine

Such a lovely way to practice thankfulness. Gratitude is the wellspring of joy!
I kept a thankfulness journal for some time, writing down 10 things each day for which I was thankful-even if it was just that the sun shone that day. It really helped me to focus more on the positives in my daily life, rather than crabbing about the negatives. It was certainly an aid to changing my perspective for the better.
I just googled fabric journals how-to and got a whole list of vids and posts, but haven't time at the mo to check them out. Sorry.
Your little journal is very pretty, and I hope it brings you much joy recording the best parts of your day.
That book sounds very interesting.
what a lovely idea to have a Thankfulness journal, we are so quick to talk about the miseries in this world but we should look to the good and thank the Lord for his hand in it.
Love what you have written in the journal, might just have to start keeping one myself.
What a beautiful journal, the design and the words that you write are lovely!
Perhaps you can add that you are thankful that someone is very thankful that you are in my blogging life. Sending you love today Lorraine. Susan
Beautiful Thankful journal!
Such a dear little thankfulness notebook. You have such a big heart Lorraine. That is such a sweet cover - now just keep going from there. Make a bigger one to start with and then from there you could make a needlebook with felted pages sewn in by hand - you know that is how I started on making my fabric books.
I then did an on-line workshop with Nellie Wortman - go to Creative Workshops she may be running one there.
Perhaps I should just get started and teach myself but I have to create a video and am still working up to the idea.
Take care as you hold Mark in your loving heart.

Don't you just love YouTube. I end up looking on there for all kinds of stuff to learn about. I had at one time considered making a camera strap like my dad had, a vintage strap that had rainbow looking colors, it was really cool looking. Hope you find what your looking for Lorraine. Nice blog!!

Everything is beautiful, so glad I am getting to see your blogs! ♥
Being thankful is certainly a way to worship our Lord. I hope you are doing alright knowing you miss your husband so much. The book covers are so pretty. I may try this for my Bible and embroider The Bible on it.
I love the cover you have made. The lace is beautiful. How is your garden coming along? Mine is late, the weather has been so chilli here. The roses are just now coming along. They are a month behind. I have the thread and pattern to crochet a round table cloth but I have not started it yet.
What a talented lady you are. Your work is so beautiful. I never learned how to crochet or knit but wish I had. So many online friends and personal friends too have created such beautiful things.
I'm sorry to hear of the loss of your husband. You lost him only a month later than I lost mine. It's not an easy thing, this moving ahead without the one you've been with for so many years but God is good. Like you, I'm managing.
Thank you for visiting my Let's Chat blog. I'm looking forward to taking a leisurely stroll through your blogs later today.
Have an awesome day.
Simply beautiful colours...lovely!
What beautiful work that is. It reminds me of the pieces my sisters and I found in Mum's posession when she passed away. We must keep such skills alive and I think it could be something I take up in the years ahead.
Hi!
Thanks for joining my blog. I love the flower with heart.
I am going to start me a crochet round table cloth soon. A friend sent me the pattern.
Oh my
no words to describe
what you share.
I am proud of you...
I think your books are lovely and like I said, you have a GOD given talent.
I cant direct you to any sites but have you tried to google "hand embroidered journals" or go to www.pinterest.com and search for them. Usually you can find links there.
I absolutely love everything you create!! You are a beautiful lady and so is your work. I loved catching up on this blog! <3
