Latest creations

Good morning everyone ~ Sorry I’ve not been here lately, but as you know, my life has changed drastically. I’m just starting to get into my new groove, even though I miss my dear husband every day and the tears flow whenever they feel like it.

I’ve been embroidering with ribbon and love it.  I’d like to know where you ladies who do ribbon work buy your ribbon and also ribbon seam binding.  I’m on a budget so need good prices.  I’ve bought some from Walmart, ribbon that is, not seam binding, as they didn’t have that kind.  Walmart doesn’t have a great variety, but it’s been a start.

I’ve been making little fabric covered journals. which I’ll be putting in my little Etsy shop when I re-open it. I emptied it when my husband left this planet as I didn’t want to deal with selling and shipping then. I’m getting ready now, as I updated my bank and credit card info, also my profile. Now I’ve got to take photos and write out descriptions and get items listed. I’m a bit of a procrastinator to say the least.  I also miss my dear husband’s love and encouragement.

Here are some crocheted, beaded edgings I’ve made also.

Hello Lorrain, I am so glad that you are feeling up to creating again. I love all your little book covers my favourite one is the bottom left, it is very pretty. I hope you do well with your etsy shop, this is something that I haven't tried yet!

Your crocheted, beaded edges are rather intricate and unusual. I hope you find a suitable supply of ribbons and binding

I love all your creations on the header and the little booklets are just plain SWEET! I am so glad you are returning to your little ribbon gardens, they are so delightful and delicate. Years ago, when I needed a good deal of ribbon, I found some great wholesale prices on Ebay. You might start there.People are often trying to unload their bulk supplies. Also, I got some great prices on Etsy for craft items I needed.

Your journals are delightful. I am glad to hear you are going to be re-opening your Etsy shop; everything in it's own good time, and as you are ready, but it's still good.
I admire your pluckiness Lorraine...

I used to crochet like a maniac when I was in my 20's and teens...I also did needlepoint and x stitch a lot. As I got older, it got busier in my world and I have not had a chance to do any of it...not since my wedding! I love the look and feel of hand made crochet...yours is beautiful!

Hi Loraine,
I found you through a comment on another blog and stopped by for a visit. First, let me say that I loved reading your beautiful tribute to your husband and the love you shared for so many years. Secondly, your covered journals are beautiful. I can see that you do quite a bit of needlework. I cross stitch, but little else. I am a new follower and am looking forward to reading more of your blog. Stop by and visit when you have the opportunity.
Blessings from Still Woods Farmhouse

I'm so sorry to hear that your husband has gone on - but joyful to hear that you are keeping on. We are at that age and of course have considered when one goes first. I'm ready to go, but guess we are never ready to lose each other... til the time comes. Your blog ws very uplifting to me - and encouraging.
Thank you for sharing
